Fold up your smartphone: The phone of the future is here
Every year smartphone manufacturers create stronger, shatter resistant screens to help keep your devices intact. However, Chinese tech company, Huawei wants to completely revolutionize the industry by creating a foldable smartphone.
In classic Huawei fashion, they started working on the foldable phone after Samsung announced that their unbreakable flexible phone screen was certified for being extraordinarily durable. Huawei frequently hurries through a test pilot of a headline worthy device feature in an attempt to beat their competitors to the punch. They have previously launched limited production runs of the sapphire crystal display and Touch Force technology after rumors of Apple’s plans to launch similar features.
Analysts believe that Huawei’s foldable phone will be released as early as next year. However, sceptics are struggling to find many positives to a foldable smartphone. They believe it will be bulkier, have less room for the battery and have large power demands. Critics are also wondering how Huawei plans to create an adaptable user interface that responds to changes in the screen size and shape.
Nonetheless, the world has yet to see a foldable, touchscreen smartphone, and if Huawei pulls off the design, we could be entering into a whole new era of smartphones.
