iFixit Nows Offers Motorola Phone Repair Kits
Repairing your phone has always been nearly impossible to do, with phone manufacturers making phones built to last only through a service contract. But now Motorola is teaming up with iFixit to create official phone repair kits.
iFixit is a private company that sells phone repair parts and offers free repair manuals for consumer electronics. Its goal is to empower users to repair their phones which saves them money and reduces e-waste.
iFixit is now selling pre-assembled repair kits for Motorola phones complete with parts straight from Motorola, giving consumers a superior repair. The kits include supplies for taking the phones apart and putting them back together.
They currently have 8 Motorola phone kits available, the Moto Z, Moto X, Droid Turbo 2, Moto Z Play, Moto G5, Z Force, X Pure, and G4 Plus.
A battery repair kit normally costs around $40 and a screen kit can cost anywhere from $100-$200. The repair kits are currently available from iFixit.
